PROFESSIONAL CERTIFICATIONS
We encourage all MPA students to sit for the CPA exam, even if you aren’t sure where you’ll work post-graduation. The CPA designation sets you apart and provides you with career option value. Depending on your career interests, additional professional designations may be appropriate. Some career areas are harder to break into than others. An additional designation could further your professional development and enhance your career potential.
CPA Exam Success
CPA candidates from The University of Texas at Austin typically have higher pass rates than the statewide and national averages on any given part of the Uniform Certified Public Accounting examination. Several of our students have received the prestigious American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AIC) Sells Award for earning the highest cumulative scores on their first attempt. Our MPA curriculum lays a solid educational foundation for the CPA Exam.
